20 years ago we were the first golf group visiting the Costa Ballena Golf Club. In those days the clubhouse was yet to be finished. However we much appreciated the nice course with a varied layout with holes close to the sea, signed Olazabal, as well as the excellent practice facilities.

A few kilometres from the course you’ll find the small seaside town, Rota. Probably most known for it’s large NATO base. However the town and it´s friendly citizens has much to offer with many small restaurants with great food.

We will stay at Hotel el Duque de Nerja, just by the beach. The hotel was new when we were there the first time and had wonderful bathrooms. The hotel has just (2022) undergone a major renovation and thus still offers a high standard.

In the evenings we will book different restaurant but should you prefer, you are free to explore the town by yourselves.

On the day off we will arrange a trip to one of the famous sherry houses. You could also use this opportunity to visit Jerez, the “Sherry” capital also well known for it´s Equestrian culture, or Cadiz, regarded as the oldest still standing town in Western Europe.
