More than a feeling

... Johanna Pyk-Jargård
... golf-pro from Sweden. I come from Mölle, a small seaside village on a beautiful peninsula with a view of Denmark. My parents played golf and so it was natural that I held my first golf club when I was 6 years old.
At that time I had no idea what it was all about. Our coach said „just look at the ball” and I didn't know what he meant. I much preferred to go sailing. I did that for a few years. I started racing and thought I had found my thing.
At the age of 13 I started playing more golf. That was really fun, and within a few months I had a handicap of 9. Since then I have always stayed true to golf. I later went to America. I studied psychology, physical education, anatomy and also a little anthropology. In San Diego I played golf on the university team and was mighty proud. My coaches recognised my passion for understanding people and said: „Johanna, you have to become a golf coach” . No sooner said than done. To this day. With absolute passion and fulfilment.
I was the first female PGA member in Sweden with an M5 rating. I have been a Tour Professional on the Swedish and European Tour, a member of the PGA Board of Sweden. I have taught feature professionals within the PGA. A beautiful and, for me, special part of my life.
The best part is that I can share these experiences with you: as a trainer, as a coach and as a travel companion.
What golf means to me
Friends for life and a workplace where I am always pleased to be.
I am happy every day to have the opportunity to play this great game.
Being able to propel that little white ball over two hundred yards with a precision that allows me to get it in the hole in a couple of shots.
I'm amazed every time that it works and it's so much fun, and challenging.
I can ruin a shot with negative thoughts and bring off a great shot with positive thoughts.
Every shot is unique. There are so many different factors that make it work or not.
The more we know about the game, the more we realise how complex it is and how little we understand.
Playing on a course with beautiful holes, birds singing and beautiful views is fantastic and to experience that is a godsend.
It speaks to the emotions, and gives a sense of well-being like a hot bath or something that’s very beautiful.
This sport means a lot to me and I hope I can grow old on the golf course and hit a good ball every now and then.
